Beaver is a Alaska Native Village in Alaska with tribal lands. Small Gwich'in Athabascan village along the Yukon River, maintaining traditions through fishing, hunting, and cultural education.
The Beaver community page explains that Beaver is located on the north bank of the Yukon River, southwest of Fort Yukon and north of Fairbanks, within the Yukon Flats National Wildlife Refuge. It notes that gold discoveries in the Chandalar region in 1907 helped lead to the founding of Beaver and that the Alaska Road Commission later built a trail north to Caro that supported freight traffic.
