Tribal Area Description
A federally recognized tribe in Alaska, Paimiut is organized around tribal lands. The land base is relevant for broadband planning due to rural service coverage and middle-mile access constraints.
We are a small village in the Yukon Kuskokwim Delta Region close to Hooper Bay, Chevak and Scammon Bay. Most of our members do not currently reside in Paimiut; though our goal is to build the village and resettle in Paimiut again. This process will take many years, but we are well on our way!! Here you will find updated information about the native village of Paimiut and support for our tribal members. The Native Village of Paimiut is located in Alaska on the Bering Sea in Kokechik Bay and is part of the Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge.
