About the Tribal Area

Tribal Area Description
Located in Alaska, Skagway is a federally recognized tribe with tribal lands. The land base is relevant for broadband planning due to rural service coverage and middle-mile access constraints.
We are here to protect the land that was passed down from our ancestors, and to help our tribal citizens through governmental contracts. Skagway Village (dba Skagway Traditional Council) contracts with Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Environmental Protection Agency to provide host of services to our tribal citizens and to keep the community of Skagway beautiful.
