Tribal Area Description
Located in California, Benton Paiute is a federally recognized tribe with tribal lands. The land base is relevant for broadband planning due to rural service coverage and middle-mile access constraints.
The Utu Utu Gwaitu Tribe of the Benton Reservation shall establish and safe guard the rights, powers and privileges of the tribe and its members. Today, it is called the Benton Hot Springs and it is not owned by the Tribe. Also adjacent to the Reservation is the historic silver mining town known as “Old Benton”.
