About the Tribal Area
Federally recognized tribe in New Mexico, centered on Laguna Pueblo, spans about 767 square miles. FCC BDC records show 9 fixed providers and 4 mobile providers across roughly 3 service locations, with current availability of 65.9% at 25/3 Mbps, and 14.5% at 100/20.
Tribal Area Description
In New Mexico, Laguna has pueblo lands managed by a federally recognized tribe. The land base is relevant for broadband planning due to rural service coverage and middle-mile access constraints.
The Tribal administration building is located in the village of Laguna. Laguna is surrounded by enchanting mesas and is situated at the foothills of the beautiful mountains of Mount Taylor. Laguna is located 45 miles west of Albuquerque on Interstate 40. The residents of Laguna Pueblo live in six villages which are Laguna, Mesita, Paguate, Seama, Paraje, and Encinal. The reservation consists of approximately 500,000 acres of land situated in Cibola, Valencia, Bernalillo and Sandoval counties.
