The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma has opened its second Judicial Center in Mc Alester, OK to improve access to justice for residents in the reservation's northern counties. Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Chief Gary Batton released the following statement regarding the purchase of the former Big Lots facility and adjoining land near the Tribe's headquarters in Durant. The Choctaw Nation is the third-largest Indian Nation in the United States with nearly 212,000 tribal members and more than 12,000 employees. Chief Batton helped raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention within the Choctaw Nation and where you can go to get help. The Chief talks about services and needs to battle child abuse in the Choctaw Nation and beyond. The Choctaw Proud are humble, appreciative people who value faith, family and culture.
