About the Tribal Area
Spans about 51 square miles in Utah, Paiute (UT) Reservation serves as the core reservation for this federally recognized tribe. FCC BDC records show 13 fixed providers and 4 mobile providers across roughly 215 service locations, with current availability of 97.1% at 25/3 Mbps, 65.7% at 100/20, and 31.4% at 1000/100.
Tribal Area Description
Located in Utah, Paiute (UT) is a federally recognized tribe with tribal lands. The land base is relevant for broadband planning due to rural service coverage and middle-mile access constraints.
In 1954 the Utah Paiutes were wrongfully subject to the Termination Act, which terminated the Paiutes federal recognition and Federal trust responsibility. Welcome to official website of the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah (PITU). The Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah Restoration Act restored the federal trust relationship to the Tribe and established the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah as the federally recognized Tribe comprising five constituent bands (Cedar, Indian Peaks, Kanosh, Koosharem, and Shivwits). Paiutes looking for a better community to thrive in... The Low Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP) program has reopened, and applications are being accepted. PITU in Action: Environmental Program Serves Our People & Our Land.
