The Utes, meaning Land of the Sun, has a tribal membership of 2,400. Ute Indian Tribe’s journey began with a deep connection to the land and a vision for a sustainable future. The Ute Tribe hosts an annual Powwow Celebration around the fourth of July holiday. The monument is a place to view the names of those who served without question and at times gave the ultimate sacrifice.
